Here are the most common ways we restore your smile:

Tooth Fillings

If you have a cavity, Dr. Garner will remove the decayed portion of your tooth to conserve tooth structure, to preserve the longevity of the tooth.  It will be filled with composite (tooth colored material) to blend in with the color of the tooth for a more natural appearance. No more embarrassing dark spots!

Root Canals

They may have a bad reputation, but root canals get you out of pain and prevent the need for an extraction. The ultimate goal is to the ultimate goal is to maintain your teeth to maintain its God given purpose.

A root canal addresses dead nerve tissues or infected nerve tissues.  Once canal is clean then it it is restored.  The final step is sealing your tooth with a crown, and no more pain!

Dental Crowns (Caps)

A crown can can be paired with an implant to replace teeth as well just a tooth. If you have a large cavity or other kinds of dental damage, a crown can be placed on top of your tooth. It will give you back a strong bite and look just like your other teeth. You can pair it with an implant to replace one missing tooth.

A crown is also called a cap, and covers a broken tooth to protect its precious enamel and inner nerve.

It’s recommended when there is extensive damage to the tooth as a means of protecting the tooth from further damage.  It is design to a produce a natural look to look like no treatment was ever done.

Dental Bridges

The purpose of a bridge is to replace or or more missing teeth without having to take it out like a denture. It is made to replace one to three missing teeth along your gums.

Dr. Garner will take careful notes on the size and shape of your other teeth to include in the order for your bridge, so that it can be customized to blend in with the rest of your smile.

He will use crowns to permanently attach the bridge to an existing, stable tooth on either side of the missing teeth. A bridge is multiple crowns that are attached and permanently bonded to the existing teeth that are on the sides of the space.

Dentures

Having no teeth is not acceptable, you deserve more!  Missing teeth has a huge negative impact on one’s overall mental and physical health. Dentures may not be what you want but may be what you need if none of the teeth can be saved.

Dentures will allow at least 33% chewing efficiency, make your face look less aged, and restore some confidence in your smile.  These days, implants are used to snap the denture in place – to improve the fit, retention, comfort and get close to normalcy.

You’ll be able to chew and smile again with confidence and without the pain!

Dental Implants

These artificial tooth roots can pair with replacement teeth to give you more natural function. If you don’t have a strong enough jaw to get implants, Dr. Garner can increase the bone with a grafting or regeneration procedure. Best of all, you won’t have to visit an outside specialist to place or restore your implants, because Dr. Garner does it all right here.

Common Questions about Restorative Dentistry

What does restorative dentistry include?

Restorative dentistry includes many services designed to repair damaged or diseased teeth and replace missing teeth. It can range from something as routine as a tooth filling to a complex dental implant procedure. The goal is the same, however – to give you back a beautiful smile and renewed biting and chewing capacity.

What are the benefits of restorative dentistry?

A healthy mouth is so much more than clean teeth and gums. Throughout your lifetime, you may need restorative dental care to treat issues that cause pain or discomfort, interfere with your oral function, or threaten your oral health. Restorative dentistry addresses problems like cavities, tooth infection, dental injuries, and tooth loss to keep your teeth functional and your mouth healthy.

Why have a root canal?

Root canals are needed when the pulp inside the tooth becomes diseased. This can happen either when a cavity goes untreated and the infection spreads to the pulp, or when a tooth suffers an injury that allows bacteria inside. In either case, we can usually save the tooth with root canal treatment.
